How to type emojis on any device

Windows 10 & 11

Press Windows key + . (period) or Windows key + ; (semicolon) to open the built-in emoji panel, then type to search. Windows does not draw country flags, which is why flag emojis appear as letters — copying them from EmojiKey still pastes the correct flag for people on other devices.

Mac

Press Control + Command + Space (or the 🌐 Globe / fn key) to open the Character Viewer. Search for an emoji by name and double-click to insert it.

iPhone & iPad

Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → Emoji, then tap the 😀 or 🌐 key while typing. Use the search field above the emoji keyboard to find emojis by name.

Android

On Gboard and Samsung Keyboard, tap the 😊 smiley key (or long-press Enter/comma) to switch to emojis. Gboard also suggests emojis as you type words.

Chromebook & Linux
