Frequently asked questions

Which symbol is my zodiac sign?

♈ Aries (about Mar 21 to Apr 19), ♉ Taurus (Apr 20 to May 20), ♊ Gemini (May 21 to Jun 20), ♋ Cancer (Jun 21 to Jul 22), ♌ Leo (Jul 23 to Aug 22), ♍ Virgo (Aug 23 to Sep 22), ♎ Libra (Sep 23 to Oct 22), ♏ Scorpio (Oct 23 to Nov 21), ♐ Sagittarius (Nov 22 to Dec 21), ♑ Capricorn (Dec 22 to Jan 19), ♒ Aquarius (Jan 20 to Feb 18) and ♓ Pisces (Feb 19 to Mar 20). Exact dates can shift by a day from year to year.

Why do zodiac signs show as purple emoji?

The twelve signs have emoji versions, so phones often draw them as coloured tiles. Some apps show the plain glyph if a text variation selector (U+FE0E) follows the symbol, but support for this varies by platform.

What is ⛎?

⛎ is Ophiuchus, the serpent bearer. It is a constellation the Sun passes through, sometimes described as a 13th sign, but it is not part of traditional Western astrology.
